"Humans are genetically active but became sedentary through wearing shoes. Unlike the barefoot condition, prolonged standing when shod is painful, which soon forces the individual wearing shoes to resort to sitting or reclining." Steven Robbins MD
A disturbing recent issue is the stampede to profit from intentionally misrepresenting my work through "minimalist shoes" - footwear with "bare foot" marketing points which are no better than the hazardous shoes their manufacturers suggest they super cede. Clearly, implications of the original 19 papers elude many, particularly the astonishingly complex multi-system adaptation of bare foot to safe locomotion on naturally deposited ground.
