The Pose Method of Running

I'm lucky to be in the position I'm in.  I've recently been educated by a customer who found us on www.facebook.com/sockwa and is loving his Amphibians.  We've been writing about different details regarding sole design and recently, the Pose Method of Running.

As a mechanical engineer, I'm enamored with the bio-mechanics of humans running, and I've just begun learning about this method of motion. It's fascinating to dissect human motion and to try and understand each sector.

Keep the lessons coming.

I bought the Sockwa Amphibian after finding other shoes allowed my toes to painfully freeze in winter weather. If I pair them with Smartwool socks, my toes stay remarkably warm for up to five miles. I do have to agree with Chris, though. The toebox needs to be redesigned so the the toes can splay properly. If the toes aren’t able to splay, they rub against each other too much and blisters/sore toes result. It does seem as though over time this problem lessens as the toes seem to adjust somewhat, but it would be better to avoid this problem altogether. Other than that, it’s a terrific feeling shoe with tremendous potential.

Running barefoot, or with a minimalist shoe is great. The transition process can be very slow so you don’t injure yourself.

One think we should keep in mind. I think if your amphibian was designed with some improvements to future generations. It could be much more marketable to bare footers. These type of customers who use minimal shoes, or sometimes no shoes. Our feet tend to widen over time.

I tried your amphibian. I found it to be overall to narrow of a product, and the toe box way too pointy. Toe box needs a wider, and more natural looking curvature of the toe area. Some extra room for toes, and forefoot to splay. If you could accomplish this in future generations. I think you would have a desired product to more diverse customer base…..
