We've been hyper focused on a few things. 1. #Overmolding 2. Use No Glue 3. Feel like you're Barefoot.
These things have guided us over the past 3 years on our quest for a one-piece wonder, that's machine washable, and has the best colors available. We won't stop evolving and simplifying and perfecting what we're making. Mechanical Engineers love this sh!t.
In the Spring of 2011, you'll be able to buy Amphibian 2.0 which has a widened toe box, Improved TPU Sole, and it's Made in America.
"No invention yet has slowed the carnage; you can now buy running shoes with steel bedsprings embedded in the soles and Adidas that adjust their cushioning by microchip, but the injury rate hasn't decreased a jot in thirty years."
"The Tarahumara geniuses had even branched into economics, creating one-of-a-kind financial system based on booze and random acts of kindness: instead of money, they traded favors and big tubs of corn beer."
"Just keep going, I chanted inside my head. Don't stop don'tstopdon't don'tdon't...."
"You have to give your heart to the Goddess of Wisdom, give her all your love and attention, and the Goddess of Wealth will become jealous, and follow you." ...Vigil
I'm lucky to be in the position I'm in. I've recently been educated by a customer who found us on www.facebook.com/sockwa and is loving his Amphibians. We've been writing about different details regarding sole design and recently, the Pose Method of Running.
As a mechanical engineer, I'm enamored with the bio-mechanics of humans running, and I've just begun learning about this method of motion. It's fascinating to dissect human motion and to try and understand each sector.
Keep the lessons coming.
Here is a page that shows the main differences between running with shoes versus running barefoot. It illustrates the body mechanics behind running barefoot.
